University of Birmingham named in 2020 Global MBA Rankings

 |  3 Min Read

Designed for enterprising business professionals with at least three years of management experience, the attractiveness of studying an MBA online only continues to grow. Most recently, our online degree has been named as one of the best in its class worldwide; the latest QS Global Online MBA rankings have placed the University of Birmingham 17th in the world1.

Professor Cathy Cassell, Dean of the Business School comments, “We are delighted that the excellent quality of our Distance Learning MBA has been recognised by the School’s position in these rankings. It is a testament not only to the commitment and quality of our faculty, but also to the engagement and dynamism of our MBA cohort.”

The QS ranking is the latest in a string of accolades for the MBA course. Birmingham Business School, along with just a handful of the worlds business schools, holds the gold standard of ‘triple-crown’ accreditation from the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), AMBA (Association of MBAs) and EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System).

In addition, the 2018 Global MBA Rankings by CEO Magazine listed the University of Birmingham Online MBA 29th in the world – amongst one of only three UK-based universities to appear in the top 30.

With an aim to identify schools which combine quality with ROI², CEO Magazine used fact-based criteria to assess all universities offering Online MBAs. Considering factors such as the learning environment, faculty, delivery methods and international diversity, these results constitute a global performance and quality benchmark.

Studying at a university that has one of the best online MBA rankings is important to many students. “Just as important as what you learn is where you learn it and how that will look on your CV” says Harriet Jeckells, Marketing Director at Wiley. “Studying my MBA at a Russell Group University was one of my key requirements. Further still the Online MBA itself is accredited too. This is particularly impressive as not many online courses can boast accreditation.”

Our global distance MBA was also the first 100% Online MBA in the world to receive formal accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) in 2016.
